WELCOME!
|
| |
Welcome to the Grays Harbor County Straddleline ORV
Park. Straddleline ORV Park is located on a 155 acre
site along the Grays Harbor and Thurston County line.
The site is adjacent to State Route 8 and divided between
the two counties with 78 acres of land in Grays Harbor
County and 77 acres in Thurston County.
Straddleline is an intensive use facility which includes
5 miles of bike trails in the park and access to over
100 miles of trails within Capitol State Forest. It
offers over 150 acres of open riding, 1 mile MX track,
1/8 mile flat track, off-road courses, sand drag strip,
kid’s mini MX course, 4-wheel drive obstacle
course, camp sites, meeting hall, restrooms with showers,
concession stand with restrooms, covered grandstands,
a main office and a caretaker’s residence.
Grays Harbor and Thurston Counties acquired the site
in 1977 with Thurston county managing and operating
the park until closing it in 2002. Grays Harbor County
re-opened the park in October, 2005 after extensive
time and labor donated by volunteers and with funding
from the Washington State Interagency for Outdoor
Recreation.
Welcome and enjoy! |

MISSION STATEMENT
|
| |
| It is
the mission of the straddleline ORV park to
develop and maintain a family destination
point, ORV park system that serves the needs
of off road vehicle users at a reasonable
cost. |
|
| |
PARK ACTIVITIES |
| |
A diverse program of competitive off-road racing and
other events are featured at the park annually. These
activities range from family and group outings to events
that are state, regional, national, and international
in scope. Seasonal event schedules are available from
the Straddleline ORV Park office or off the website
at Straddleline_ORV@centurytel.net. The park features
a variety of four-wheel drive, off-road, motorcycle,
and ATV events throughout the racing season as well
as safety and education programs and skill clinics. |
| |
|
| |
CAMPING |
| |
Camping, which includes both individual and group
sites, is available on a first come, first serve basis.
The park’s facilities can accommodate groups up
to 5,000. Water supply stations and restrooms are easily
accessible to all areas. Individual sewer and electricity
hook-ups are not available. A trailer dump station is
located on the site and there are no additional charges
for use of the facility with each overnight stay. A
$10.00 charge is levied for users not camping in the
park. An early arrival is suggested on major events. |
| |
|
| |
TRAILS |
| |
The park features over five miles of competitive and
casual riding trails as well as access to the 80,000
acre Capitol Forest multi-use recreation area. Trails
are available for all age and skill levels. The park
trail system is open April through September. Capitol
Forest is open from April through the end of October,
depending on the weather. Because the park trail system
and the Capitol Forest system are connected, the park
provides an excellent staging area for trail and cross-country
events and activities.
Another feature of the park is the children’s
motorcycle-style riding area, which is conducive to
other motorcycles and bicycles. |
