Grays Harbor County Environmental Health permits and regulates active and closed landfills, transfer stations, land application sites, composting facilities, and recycling facilities to ensure compliance with regulations set in WAC 173-350 and closing/monitoring requirements set in WAC 173-304. Environmental Health will also respond to solid waste disposal complaints/concerns.

SOLID & HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN

Definition of solid waste: All putrescible and nonputrescible solid and semisolid wastes including, but not limited to, garbage, rubbish, ashes, industrial wastes, swill, sewage sludge, demolition and construction wastes, abandoned vehicles or parts thereof, contaminated soils and contaminated dredged material, and recyclable materials. To determine if a material meets the definition of a solid waste, please refer to WAC 173-350-021.
