Outdoor Burning Restriction Lifted in Grays Harbor County

MONTESANO — Effective 12:01 A.M. Saturday, September 19, 2015, Grays Harbor County Fire Districts and Fire Departments will remove the restrictions on the burning of residential yard waste in the unincorporated areas of Grays Harbor  County in accordance with the Outdoor Burning Rules:

For burning on Department of Natural Resources (DNR) protected lands please contact DNR.  For land clearing burns please contact Olympic Region Clean Air Authority (ORCAA).

The amount of recent rainfall, combined with its projected continuing trend, has reduced the threat of a wildfire to an appropriate level throughout the County. The Fire Marshal’s Office cautions residents to please note that the threat of escaped debris from burning will begin to increase if a dry trend occurs.

Fire Districts, Fire Departments, Grays Harbor County, and Washington State regulations place importance on following the rules that apply to outdoor burning in your area, and caution all citizens to be careful when burning. Please attend your burn at all times, and make sure that the fire is completely extinguished before leaving it unattended. For more information on outdoor burning on improved property, please contact your local fire protection agency before beginning to burn.
