“The Mission of the Grays Harbor Therapeutic Court is to increase community safety, reduce recidivism, hold offenders accountable, address addiction and the cycle of crime that follows while promoting recovery for individuals and their families. 
This is accomplished by incorporating evidence-based substance use treatment and recovery supports with intensive court supervised services to help participants achieve the necessary skills to become, sober, stable and productive members of our community.”

The Grays Harbor County Therapeutic Court aims to accomplish its mission by:

  • Providing qualifying substance abusing offenders an opportunity for judicially supervised treatment as an alternative to incarceration.

  • Assisting participants in eliminating all use of mind or mood altering substances and addressing criminal thinking and behaviors through incorporation of evidence-based treatment practices and programs.

  • Encouraging participants to maintain an alcohol and drug free lifestyle by administering frequent random drug and alcohol testing.

  • Providing immediate interventions (sanctions/incentives) to address high-risk behaviors and promote accountability by holding them responsible for their actions.

  • Providing intensive supervision and case management to support participants in reaching their individual goals that will help maintain a positive, sober lifestyle.

  • Forming community partnerships to assist participants with vocational, educational, employment, health care, housing and other identified needs.

  • Maintaining a cohesive team approach to support participant’s life changing behaviors through continued education and professional growth.

  • Performing regular evaluation measures to help promote effective practices and improve ineffective practices
