Both parties may apply in person for their marriage license at the Grays Harbor County Auditor's office during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. closed 12:00-12:30).
If one of the parties can't appear in person, the other party may take the uncompleted forms to the absent party to be filled out, and signed, in front of a notary public. When the application is returned, the party taking the forms completes their portion in our office. A license can then be issued.
No birth certificates, blood tests, or other documentation is necessary to apply for a marriage license.
The license is not valid until three (3) days after the date issued.
The license is then good only for the next 60 days
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Applicants 17 years of age may obtain a license with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Applicants 16 years of age have additional requirements and may require judicial approval.
