For the past several years, the Grays Harbor Marine Resources Committee has provided funding to local school districts for transportation costs associated with field trips to local beaches.  During these trips, students were asked to conduct inquiry-based science investigations on the health of intertidal ecosystems and to learn about water quality from a Quinault Indian Nation Shellfish Biologist.  These trips promote not only the local ecosystem, but send a message of conservation to the students.  Below are examples of student work designed using information gained during the field trip experience.
