What is a Tax Title Property?

A Tax Title property is a parcel that was offered at the Treasurer’s Tax Foreclosure Sale and did not receive the minimum bid. Those parcels are then conveyed to Grays Harbor County and are held in ‘tax title’ status. Properties authorized for disposal may be purchased. Click here to see the list of available properties.

How do I purchase a tax title parcel?

Grays Harbor County holds regular tax title auctions. A parcel may be requested to be included in the auction, otherwise, the list is determined by the Department of Forestry/Tax Title Management, in conjunction with the Assessor, Treasurer, and submitted to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.  Some qualifying properties may be purchased through private negotiation.  

The next Tax Title Auction is scheduled for Friday, September 20th, 2019 @ 9:00 am. The auction will be conducted via Bid4Assets internet website only. The auction will begin at 9:00 AM (PT) and commence on or around 12:00 PM (PT). All sales will be made to the highest bidder.

Only bids submitted via the Internet will be accepted. Pre-registration is required. Register on-line at www.Bid4Assets.com. Grays Harbor County will not be registering bidders, accepting deposits, or accepting bids and all questions regarding registration will be directed to Bid4Assets.com.

What are some general terms of the sale?

All properties, regardless of purchase through auction or direct negotiation, are sold as is, where is. All sales are final. Buyers are strongly encouraged to do their own research regarding parcels to include zoning, building restrictions, encumbrances, easements, etc. We also encourage potential buyers to conduct site visits and consult a personal real estate attorney for any potential issues uncovered during research. 

How do I find upcoming auction information and what parcels will be included?

 

The county is required to publish any properties offered for public auction in The Vidette for 3 weeks prior to the date of the sale. The list and date of the Tax Title Auction will also be available on the Forestry Department web site at least 3 weeks prior to the sale. You may also contact the Forestry Department and speak with the Tax Title Coordinator for additional information @ 360.249.5071 ext. 1924.
